Remembering Venice captures the feeling of looking back on a place that stays with you long after you have left.
Inspired by my recent travels through Venice, this original oil painting is a soft, dreamlike recollection of quiet canals, sun-warmed buildings, faded shutters and little touches of flowers along the water. Pale blues, warm creams, blush pinks and golden ochres give the scene the haziness of a beautiful memory rather than a literal view.
Painted in my loose, romantic style, it is Venice as I remember it — not every detail, but the feeling of being there.
